Matter files
Client and matter materials live in a firm-managed environment, not personal accounts.
The private AI stack for law firms and legal teams
Research memos, due diligence, contract review, and summaries are already meeting AI somewhere. We implement and operate a firm-governed environment with approved models, institutional knowledge, and matter-level permissions, keeping privileged data inside your infrastructure.
A governed workflow
The team queries contracts, precedents, and playbooks inside the matter workspace. Permissions, models, and sources remain under the firm’s control.
Private knowledge, model selection, and traceability in one environment.
Matter files
Client and matter materials live in a firm-managed environment, not personal accounts.
Professional duties
Prompts, uploads, retention, and model routing aligned with privilege, client terms, and internal policy.
Practice teams
SSO and permissions by practice, matter, and role: partners, associates, paralegals, and operations do not need the same setup.
Traceability
Model usage, access, and retention remain visible to those accountable before AI-assisted work reaches the matter file.
A matter file is not a sandbox. Every prompt, draft, and uploaded document has a client, a matter, a deadline, and an obligation to verify the work.
The pressure is already inside the firm
Research memos, due diligence, contract review and redlining, deposition summaries, timelines, and internal playbooks.
Which tools touched the matter, who had access, where records are stored, and how each draft is verified before use.
When that work happens in personal accounts, the firm loses the record precisely where privilege and verification matter most. Astraed gives the firm one entry point that partners can see.
Review
Before approving AI use on their matters, corporate clients and outside-counsel guidelines require clarity on where the system runs, who has access, and which models are involved. Astraed delivers that package ready to use:
Astraed delivers your private AI working and keeps it that way: implementation, customization, hosting, and maintenance, with an initial four-week implementation.

Questions
No. Astraed implements and operates the environment where your team uses AI models with the firm’s knowledge. It does not exercise professional judgment or decide whether a draft is appropriate for a client, court, or regulator. Lawyers review every output and decide what is used.
Yes. Administrators decide which models each group can see, so each practice or matter uses models permitted by client terms and internal policy — local, private, or from approved providers.
They remain in the firm deployment’s database and storage. They reach an external system only when the firm configures an external provider or integration.
Astraed. Installation, monitoring, backups, and updates are part of the service. If you have an IT team, we work within its policies; if you do not, one is not required.
